The Registration Process

Registration Step 1

Step 1 - Complete the registration form on our website. We will review once received, email you to confirm receipt and let you know if we need anything more.

We will also send an invoice for the registration fee. Once this is paid we will move on to Step 2. (Please note, registration invoice is sent immediately, but it is refundable if the other parent does not complete registration.)

Step 2 - We contact the other parent and any other professionals you've detailed to full assess the service and once received contact you to arrange a service planning meeting.

Step 3 - Service planning meeting with both parents/carers and any other professionals who need to be involved. A risk assessment is completed and services agreed including dates, times, expectations and anything else you or we need to clarify.

These are usually held on Teams or in our office, your home or in the community face-to-face. Once complete you will be sent confirmation of sessions. Sessions have to be paid 3 days before the session takes place.

Preparation Step 4

Step 4 - When appropriate we are always happy to do a preparation session with the children. This can be in one of our family rooms, the community, school, home or by Teams. We often send a video and child-friendly information to help you prepare them for the first session. We recognise the first session can be daunting for little people!

Once completed, the services begin. Reports, where included, are sent usually by the end of the next working day or within 48 hours.

The Details

Where: At home, in school, in the community, at one of our family rooms or in a location nearer to you.

How Much: The Charge is dependent on what type of service, how often and for how long. South West Family Services are affordable and accessible and will work with families to ensure children can spend meaningful time with parents, other relatives or siblings wherever possible.

Timescales: Our referral service is online, easy and allows the process to be streamlined, safe and confidential. We aim to have services in place in days, not weeks or months.
